Editorial standards

What you get from an engagement, and the standards of our research: one answer you can repeat to your board, one consultant answerable for the whole mandate, and every figure with its source and, where the source gives one, the date it was taken.

What you get

One answer to the question you asked, in a sentence you can repeat to your board, with what acting is worth and what waiting costs beside it. A judgment you can argue with, not a score. One consultant answerable for the whole mandate.

The standards of our research

  • Every figure carries its source and, where the source gives one, the date it was taken.
  • A figure drawn to illustrate a method rather than to report a measurement says so, in its caption and in the page's own metadata.
  • Every figure can be read as data, downloaded as an image or embedded elsewhere, so a reader can check it rather than take it on trust.
  • Our own figures and the data behind them are published under CC BY 4.0: anyone may reuse one with credit to Ascensi Management and a link back; a figure from another publisher is shown under its source's terms.
  • The quality of the evidence behind a finding is stated beside the finding, in the research as in a client report.
  • A Romanian version is read by a native speaker before it is published, and says the same thing as the English.
  • The service names and the categories are the same words in both languages, so a citation points at one thing.

What we do not publish

  • No client is ever named: a case describes the sector, the size band and the market, never the company.
  • What an individual says in a workshop stays unattributed. What the team decides is written down.

Where to start

Start with a conversation rather than a document: bring the decision you are weighing to a meeting with an advisor, and we will say what we can measure and what we cannot.

If you would rather see the shape of the answer before you ask for one, read What you receive.
